Rome: July 8, 2009  –Leading players in the world of television fiction heard ten presentations for TV Movies, Mini-series andDocuFiction on Day Four of a highly successful Industry Week.    Five of the pitches came from Italy and the balance from Albania, Brazil, France, Singapore and the United Kingdom. Once again the diversity and quality of the projects impressed both the television professionals from five continents who served as the judges in this marketplace of new ideas.

In yet another hugely tight race, the small Italian independent production company Effendemfilm SRL beat off challenges from larger established international companies. The ranking for the Best Pitch for TV Movie, Mini-seriesandDocuFiction was as follows:

1.Don Elvis ( Father Elvis ), a docu-fiction project pitched by Federico Minetti and Paolo Cammarano, about a priest who also has an active career as an Elvis Presley impersonator.

2. Chasing Wallace,pitched by Jason Lai of Singapore’s Oak 3 Films. The docu-fiction series tracks in modern time and with historical recreation the travels of Charles Darwin’s contemporary Alfred Russell Wallace as each pursued a theory of evolution.

3. Call Girl, a mini-series from Brazil’s Prodigo, pitched by Adriano Civita.

3. Dreaming of Fellini, a TV movie from Italy’s Olympus Films, pitched by Roberto Leone and Bianca Alessandra Ara; and

3. The Odyssey, a  mini-series from France’s Making Prod, pitched by Stephane Drouet and Matthieu Viala.
